PREVIEW: Action Demos Announced for International Autobody Congress & Exposition

The International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) Action Demonstration Arena will showcase live demonstrations on the processes of auto glass installation, resistance spot welding, panel bonding, aluminum welding and airbags at the International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE).
Being held December 5 to 8, at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Tx., NACE caters to all aspects of the autobody trade and the addition of the demonstrations is expected to be a big draw.
There is no cost to attend and tickets are not required for these one-hour action demos to be given by industry experts.
The first demo will be auto glass installation at noon on Friday, Dec. 6, followed by resistance spot welding at 2 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 7, a panel bonding demo will be held at 11 a.m., followed by aluminum welding at 1 p.m. and airbags at 3 p.m. All demos will take place on the NACE Exposition floor.
"These action-packed demos are an extension of the NACE educational program. Each demo shows a complete process, with ample time allotted for questions from attendees," said Tol Kincaid, NACE show manager.
The Action Demonstration Arena was added to NACE in 2001 during which standing-room-only crowds turned out for demonstrations of the latest collision repair techniques. This year, the arena has been expanded to provide more space and additional seating.
NACE 2002 will be held Dec. 5-8, at the Dallas Convention Center and is expected to draw an attendance of 30,000-plus from around the globe. It will feature more than 60 timely educational sessions, an Exposition with 500+ exhibiting companies, a keynote address by George Bush, the 41st President of the United States, and a live performance by comedian and actor Bill Cosby.
Education sessions include:
 Jobber Track – A track has been designed specifically for the Jobbers this year. It will be offered on Thursday, December 5. The cost is $150 for the entire day (includes two sessions and lunch). Individual tickets may be purchased – $75 for each session and $25 for the luncheon.

 Small Shop Track – Courses designed to address the needs of the small shop owner / manager, or those new to the industry. In addition to the Small Shop Track, NACE recommends all management track sessions for small shops.

 Certain sessions have been recommended for dealer bodyshop professionals. – Look for courses coded with ‘D logo’ denoting dealer focused track.

 Spanish Language Classes – Offered by I-CAR and in the NACE Technical Track.

 ARMS Luncheon – If you plan to attend the ARMS program on Thursday, December 5, you will want to add the optional luncheon to your itinerary. Tickets may be purchased for $25 each.
