Mister Transmission to hit the links June 21

Mister Transmission’s 31st annual charity golf tournament will take place Friday, June 21, with franchisees being involved in deciding how the funds will be distributed.

Last year, the company launched a new charitable fund with an eye to supporting causes that are meaningful to its franchisees and their local communities.

Last year’s even raised over $13,000, which was used to support community-based charities as suggested by Mister Transmission franchisees and specialists. Among them:

  • Retrofitting a van for a disabled youth in North Bay, Ont.;
  • Repairing the transmission of a delivery truck used by a community youth program in Etobicoke ;
  • Providing a holiday donation to the Kawartha Food Bank in Peterborough, Ont.; and
  • Giving away three scholarships for post-secondary education to Mister Transmission families.

Last year president and CEO Tony Kuczynski told the golf tournament’s 72 golfers, “We’ve raised a lot of money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and provided a lot of support, and we will continue to support them. But we also want to support some other causes that are near and dear to the hearts of our franchisees.”

The Mister Transmission Charitable fund focuses on health, education, welfare and community projects for children and youth.

The 31st annual golf tournament will include a silent auction and prizes at the King’s Riding Golf Club, King City, Ont. Shotgun start at 8 a.m. sharp.
