The annual Hope & Cope Walkathon organized by Dorval, Sources, and St-Henri Auto Parts is scheduled for Sept. 8 to raise funds for Hope & Cope’s cancer exercise program.
The three auto parts businesses chose to host a walkathon because it involves comparatively lower costs than a fancy dinner-dance or a golf tournament. They are very proud of the fact that they are able to cover all of the expenses allowing 100% of the proceeds to be turned over to Hope & Cope.
This is the 12th year that they have spearheaded this annual fundraising event, last year raising $72,000 for the charity, and raising a total of more than $650,000 over the years.
Hope & Cope helps people cope with cancer with guidance from professional staff, cancer-experienced volunteers that provide psycho social support and practical resources that help patients regain a sense of control and well-being, reduced isolation and restore hope.
The 7 km walk will begin at 9:00 a.m. in St. Maxime Park, 3690 Boulevard Lévesque O, Laval, and will finish with refueling and socializing at a lively barbecue.
