Mister Transmission golfers raise $15,000 for children and youth

Mister Transmission suppliers and franchisees raised over $15,000 for the company’s charitable fund at the 31st annual Mister Transmission Charity Golf Tournament on Friday.

Held at King’s Riding Golf Club in King City, Ont., more 80 golfers enjoyed a day on the links, in beautiful summer weather, raising money for children and youth in the franchisees’ local communities.

The funds will support a variety of initatives from a health, hardship, and education and community perspective.

“We raised more money this year than we did last year, and we’re very proud of that,” Mister Transmission president and CEO Tony Kuczynski said. “So, thank you all.”

The $15,000 raised included $1,500 raised in a “Beat the Boss” competition, a recent tradition for the golf day, in which players tried to hit a ball closer to the pin than Kuczynski could.

“It was a lot of fun for me, because I get to meet everyone on the golf course,” Kuczynski said. “Fortunately for those who played against me, a lot of my drives ended up in the drink. I obviously need some practice.”

At dinner after the tournament, everyone received a prize, special trophies were handed out to winning golfers, and Kuczynski made a point of thanking the tournament’s many sponsors.

“These events wouldn’t raise near the same amount of money without their generous help,” he said.
