‘Be Car Care Aware’ takes to social media

Groups band together throughout May Car Care month to remind Canadians to have their vehicles inspected and to complete any required maintenance and repairs.

Car_Care_Council_Maintenance_MondaysAIA Canada’s Be Car Care Aware program is partnering with a number of motorist-friendly organizations to share maintenance and road safety tips via social media during May “Car Care Month.”

AIA Canada will work with the Canadian Automobile Association, the Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF), and the Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals (CARSP) throughout the month to remind Canadians to have their vehicles inspected and to complete any required maintenance and repairs.

This year, the organizations will be especially active on social media to promote Car Care Month.

The groups will share maintenance and road safety tips to help keep motorists safe on Canadian roads throughout the spring and summer months.

For the #carcaresafety campaign, Be Car Care Aware and its partners have developed a series of postcards to be shared on Twitter and Facebook. The campaign is being advertised on the Ottawa Citizen website, on driving.ca, and on the Gas Buddy app to invite Canadians to get involved.

Auto repair shops on social media are encouraged to “like” the campaign on Facebook, follow @BeCarCareAware on Twitter, and participate in the campaign by sharing content.

Shops should also post their own tips with #carcaresafety and #CarCareMonth, and BCCA will endeavor to share them.
