Groupe Touchette opens new warehouse in Cambridge

Groupe Touchette, the largest Canadian-owned tire distributor with more than 30 warehouses across Canada, has opened a new distribution centre in Cambridge, Ont.

The new distribution centre is ready to serve more than 15 cities in southwestern Ontario, including London, Kitchener, Waterloo, and Guelph. The new warehouse has a total surface of 50,000 square feet and a capacity of close to 75,000 tires.

The company says that, among other things, its clients from nearby cities will benefit from a better delivery service and a wider tire and brand inventory.

“This distribution centre will enable us to cover a bigger territory, provide better service, better access to products, and a faster delivery capacity,” said Cambridge warehouse manager Larry Scheweertman. “Furthermore, it creates seven permanent positions.”

A distribution centre of this size reinforces Groupe Touchette’s presence in Ontario and it is part of the company’s development plan, which is to continue gaining a firm foothold across the country and sustain the rapid growth by always improving services.

Coast to coast, Groupe Touchette has more than 600 employees.

In addition to services offered to car manufacturers, authorised car dealers and independent retailers, under the TireLink and DT Tire banners, Groupe Touchette Inc. is also present under the Tireland/IciPneu, TirePartners/Pneu Solutions, Touchette pneus mécanique and Touchette Motorsport banners.
