EYE SPY: California Cruiser

A shop down in California sent in this picture of a cylinder head on a PT Cruiser Turbo. The owner of the vehicle claimed he performed his own repair on the blown head gasket.

A shop down in California sent in this picture of a cylinder head on a PT Cruiser Turbo.

The owner of the vehicle claimed he performed his own repair on the blown head gasket.

He managed to replace the gasket and get the car running…. but only for a few seconds before all hell broke loose and it died. It was then brought in to the professionals.

When Darrell Robinson of Robinson Automotive in Lake Havisu, Cal. started working on the car he found it had no compression, so he pulled the head to see what was going on. Inside the post they removed the remains of a cigarette lighter! Not surprising the engine failed so dramatically. Lose something??
